Elena K. Weitz

New Jersey family law attorney Elena K. Weitz is a Partner in the Williams Law Group, LLC and focuses her practice in all areas of Family Law. Elena devotes 100% of her practice to all areas of family law, including all aspects of divorce, separation, custody and parenting time, spousal and child support, equitable distribution of property, prenuptial agreements, mediation, arbitration, domestic violence, post-judgment matters and appeals, including trial representation. 

Elena has been practicing law for 19 years. As a result of her extensive years of practice and focus on all areas of family law Elena has a keen understanding of both the legal processes, as well as the emotional and financial impact litigation has on her clients. Elena is committed to vigorously representing each of her clients and protecting their rights. 

Elena has been trained and authorized pursuant to New Jersey Supreme Court Rules of Court R. 1:40 to serve on the roster of approved Mediators, as well as being one of the first class of court-approved Parenting Coordinators by the Judiciary of the State of New Jersey.  She is a member and serves on the Board of Directors for the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM) and has been appointed by the New Jersey Supreme Court to serve as a member of the New Jersey District XII Ethics Committee.    

Elena earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology and Psychology from Franklin & Marshall College and her Juris Doctor (JD) from Seton Hall University School of Law. Elena uses her degree in Psychology and brings her extensive experience handling high conflict child custody matters to her role as a Parenting Coordinator, Mediator, and Attorney. 

While attending Law School, Elena interned for the Honorable Philip B. Cummis, J.S.C., a now-retired Family Part Judge in Essex County, as well as for the New York Legal Assistance Group (NYLAG), providing services in the family and matrimonial department with a focus on domestic violence matters. She was also the recipient of the Seton Hall Law School Merit Scholarship, recipient of the Seton Hall University School of Law Public Interest Fellowship, and she was chosen to participate in the Courtroom Advocates Project which represents victims of domestic violence. 

Elena is admitted to practice in New Jersey and New York, and is a member of the New York Bar Association, New Jersey Bar Association, Essex County Bar Association and Union County Bar Association.
