Highly skilled in mediation, collaborative methods, and litigation, Ms. Cohen has the versatility and know-how to efficiently resolve her clients’ legal matters through the method that is best suited for reaching their goals. Whether she is facilitating a smooth transition for a divorcing spouse via mediation or zealously defending a parent’s rights in a highly contested court battle, Ms. Cohen prioritizes strategies that truly align with her client’s best interests. Recognizing that divorce and family law matters often coincide with tax, business, and estate planning issues, Ms. Cohen is capable of providing her clients with excellent guidance in any of these overlapping areas.

Ms. Cohen graduated with her bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University, New Brunswick and her law degree from Rutgers School of Law. During law school, she served as Co-Editor-in-Chief of the Women’s Rights Law Reporter, the first legal periodical in the U.S. to focus exclusively on the field of women’s rights law. In that role, she supervised a staff of 20 to 30 students and spearheaded the publication of four volumes of the journal each year. This experience was pivotal in shaping the meticulous attention to detail, rigorous research skills, and excellence in communication that Ms. Cohen employs today in seamlessly managing her clients’ cases.

Prior to entering private practice, Ms. Cohen interned with the Honorable Teresa A. Kondrup-Coyle, J.S.C. in Monmouth County. She researched and wrote memoranda on a variety of legal issues, including child support and child custody, and also assisted in drafting and revising orders and reviewing pleadings. Ms. Cohen had the ability to observe various legal proceedings, providing her with a unique perspective that assists her in representing clients in the courtroom. She continues to use this deep understanding of the judicial decision-making process and inner workings of the court system when building robust and effective arguments for her clients in their litigated matters.

Admitted to practice before the New Jersey courts, Ms. Cohen is a proud member of the New Jersey State Bar Association, where she participates in the NJSBA’s Family Law Section and Young Lawyers Division.
