Joshua D. Cooper, Esq. is an Associate at the Williams Law Group, LLC, and devotes most of his practice to Family Law. With extensive experience in divorce, custody, parenting time, child support, alimony, equitable distribution, and other family-related legal issues, Joshua is dedicated to helping clients navigate some of the most challenging times in their lives. His practice covers a wide range of family law concerns, including separation agreements, mediation, post-judgment matters, relocation, emergent applications, and domestic violence.
Known for his compassionate approach, Joshua strives to make the legal process as smooth and stress-free as possible for his clients. He values building strong, professional relationships and is committed to being accessible, especially when clients need support outside of normal business hours. Joshua’s responsiveness and diligent work ethic make him a trusted advocate for those facing complex family law issues.
Joshua earned his Juris Doctor (JD) from Seton Hall University School of Law in 2020, where he also served as a student fellow for the Center for Policy and Research and as a research assistant to Professor Mark P. Denbeaux, Esq. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (BA) in History with a minor in Creative Writing from Seton Hall University, graduating in 2016. During law school, Joshua honed his skills as a senior in-house counsel intern at Turner Construction Co., where he reviewed contracts and developed negotiation tactics. He also gained hands-on experience as an intern at the Anthony Pope Law Firm, working in criminal, personal injury, contract law, and family law.
After law school, Joshua clerked for the Honorable Mark Baber, J.S.C., at the Hudson County Superior Court, where he gained invaluable insight into family law practice. In his role as a law clerk, he participated in hearings, trials, and mediation sessions, offering legal opinions and assisting in negotiations on behalf of the family law vicinage.
