New Jersey Family Law Attorney Who Puts Your Needs First
Valerie Steiner, Esq., is an Associate at the Williams Law Group, LLC, where she focuses her practice on Family Law, Trusts & Estates, and Residential Real Estate Closings. With over 20 years of litigation experience, she handles cases involving divorce, child custody, support, domestic violence, will contests, guardianships, fiduciary disputes, and residential purchase of property agreements. Valerie is known for her compassionate and client-focused approach during some of life’s most challenging transitions.
Valerie began her legal career as a judicial law clerk to the Honorable Marguerite T. Simon, P.J.Ch., in the Superior Court of New Jersey, Chancery Division, General Equity and Probate Parts. This early experience gave her a strong foundation in equity and estate matters that continue to guide her practice. During her clerkship, she completed formal mediation training, which strengthened her commitment to collaboration.
Valerie serves as a mediator in certain divorce and family-related cases. In this role, she works with both parties and helps them communicate more effectively. Her goal is to guide them through discussions that help both sides find common ground and reach a resolution they can agree on.
After her clerkship, Valerie worked with the late Hon. Peter Ciolino, P.J. (Ret.), in his private mediation practice, where she gained valuable experience in alternative dispute resolution for civil and family matters. This reinforced her commitment to helping clients find cooperative, efficient resolutions.
Before joining Williams Law Group, Valerie ran her own law firm for nearly two decades. Valerie built her practice on trust, advocacy, and a deep commitment to client-focused representation. She brings that same level of care and diligence to every case at the firm.
Valerie earned her Juris Doctor from Rutgers School of Law – Camden, where she participated in the school’s Consumer Law Clinic, gaining hands-on experience in client interaction and case strategy. She also interned for the Honorable Judith H. Wizmur, U.S. Bankruptcy Judge for the District of New Jersey, gaining valuable insight into the federal court system and judicial decision-making.
She received her Bachelor of Arts from Rutgers College, double majoring in Philosophy and Political Science, where she developed critical thinking and analytical skills. Valerie is admitted to practice in the State of New Jersey, the U.S. District Court for the District of New Jersey, and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit.
